Drug testing involves the chemical examination of biological samples to detect whether a particular drug is in a person’s system or not. Here are the various drug tests used:

Urine Test The urine test is the most common and least expensive drug test. One can obtain a home kit for less than $3. There are several forms of urine drug testing such as dips or panels, cassettes or devices, and cups.
Saliva Test A saliva test is the next affordable drug test with prices as low as $10. It is easy to administer and collection is non-intrusive.
Hair Test A hair test is somewhat more expensive at around $40 but moderately non-intrusive. The test needs hair follicles at least 1.5 inches long and samples lumped together must be as thick as a pencil’s diameter. It detects drug use up to 90 days. However, it cannot detect more recent use, like drug use in the past week.
Sweat Test The sweat test is deemed somewhat intrusive since it involves sporting a sweat patch for a certain period of time. This type of drug is not commonly used since the results are believed to be less accurate.
Blood Test The blood test is the most intrusive and expensive drug test, yet it is the most accurate one. It is usually the test of choice for legal proceedings.
